“Lockdown” is the fourth episode of season one of Generator Rex and the fourth of the overall series. It debuted on May 14, 2010.

Overview[]

Providence is in lockdown when a dangerously formidable spider-like EVO escapes, but when Noah admits a startling secret to Rex, he loses his cool – and his powers!

Plot[]

Rex, Six, and Bobo arrive at Valley Market to take down an EVO. During the fight, Rex abruptly loses focus over his machines, due to the hysterical nature of the EVO's laughing. He is asked to visit Doctor Holiday, who gives him some advice to control his emotions. But none end up working for Rex. Meanwhile, Noah is brought to Providence to be reminded of what his actual goal is due to his inefficiency in keeping an eye on Rex. White Knight proceeds to warn Noah of the dangers of befriending a weapon. As Six and Noah leave, they start feeling guilty for lying to Rex. Rex stumbles upon Agent Six escorting Noah out of the base. To avoid blowing Noah's cover, Six tells Rex that he brought Noah to the base to keep Rex company. Rex decides to give Noah the grand tour of the base, including introducing him to Doctor Holiday and showing him around the Petting Zoo.

Rex and Noah in Zoo

Noah and Rex are trapped in the Petting Zoo together. Unfortunately, Rex's powers do not work.

Soon they reach a mysterious bunker at the center of the Petting Zoo called “The Hole”. Curiosity gets the better of them and Rex and Noah stumble onto a formidable spider-like EVO and accidentally free it. After Dr. Holiday locks the area down, Rex and Noah must make it to the exit alive to lift the lockdown and escape the zoo while being hunted by its EVO residents.

A panicky Noah lets slip that he works for White Knight, which rattles Rex sufficiently that he loses control of his powers. The two manage to make it to the exit, but while Noah apologizes for his deception, their friendship seems to be over. All of a sudden, the spider EVO snatches Noah and runs away. Holiday also arrives at the spot and explains to Rex that Noah isn't at fault, but White is. Rex's feeling of betrayal subsides, and he proceeds to defeat the EVO and rescue Noah, regaining control over his powers in the process. Finally prepared to vanquish the creature, Rex prepares to kill it with the BFS when Dr. Holiday arrives and stops him. She confesses that this monster is no ordinary EVO; It's Dr. Holiday's incurable younger sister, Beverly Holiday. Rex threatens to harm White Knight if he is spied upon or manipulates anyone again and resolves to leave Providence for a short amount of time.

Trivia[]

  • Dr. Holiday made an appearance similar to Terminator 2 Judgement Day when she was in the petting zoo helping Rex. Saying, “If you want to find Noah, come with me.”
  • This episode is a very similar to Teen Titans Stranded another one of the works of Derrick Wyatt
    • Both Rex Salazar and Starfire are dealing with issues including relationships and friendships which it turned into a misunderstanding
    • Starfire and Rex Salazar have their emotions fuel their powers
    • Robin and Noah Nixon are both in a similar situation where they caused a misunderstanding, to where Rex Salazar and Starfire are irritated at the dishonesty of Robin and Noah Nixon
    • Rex Salazar told Noah Nixon to be silent to keep the reptile evos from trying to claim their food as similar to Ronin being told to be silent from Starfire, because the floor of the planet is unstable.
    • The lead characters (Robin and Starfire) were both being stalked by the episodes antagonist until the antagonist met their end, while Beverly was almost ready to meet her end until Dr. Holiday was heartbroken telling Rex not to kill her.
    • Providence tower looks similar to the trashed space station by the antagonist of the episode
